Canadian Food For Children (Chatham-Kent) is a registered non-profit, non-denominational, charitable organization which collects food for the poor overseas regardless of race, colour or creed.
We are branch of Canadian Food For Children which is located in Mississauga, Ontario. It was started in 1985 by Dr. Andrew and Joan Simone and St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta. The Chatham-Kent branch of CFFC was established in 2006 in Chatham, Ontario.
Unpaid, caring volunteers sort and pack the donated items and food which are loaded onto a 53ft transport. The transport truck loads go to the warehouse in Mississauga where supplies are transferred to shipping containers and then sent overseas.
Included on our transport loads are 10,000 to 15,000 lbs. of non-perishable food (beans, powdered milk, peanut butter, rice etc.) which is purchased locally in bulk, medical supplies, school supplies, clothing and other needed items.
