Our Mission

The Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation (CMF) is a registered charity dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of mesothelioma in Canada. Mesothelioma is a devastating disease caused almost exclusively by exposure to asbestos. The number one cause of work-related mortality is disease caused by exposure to asbestos.

We advocate for and support patients with mesothelioma and their families. We provide information about treatment options and other concerns patients and families might have and help connect them with centres of excellence and other support services across Canada.

The Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation provides a number of private, invite-only online forums for patients and families to support each other through the difficult time following the diagnosis, as well as for caregivers and bereaved to connect with one another, share experiences and seek support from one another.

We provide educational and training grants, support educational workshops and conferences, and are developing a network of health professionals in Canada with mesothelioma expertise to ensure all patients have access to early diagnosis and the best treatments available.
