Vision
Everyone has an adequate, accessible, and affordable place to call home.
Mission
CCHR advances the right to housing through advocacy, education, and empowerment
Values
We advance the right to housing for all
CCHR has been at the forefront of national and international discussions to advance the right to housing since 1987, earning widespread respect for its work. We believe that by working with partners and communities across the country, our research, advocacy and strategic litigation can influence the development of rights-based housing policy.
We transform lives through education and empowerment
CCHR reaches thousands of individuals, service providers and housing providers across Canada each year, informing them about the right to housing and what they can do to advance it. We believe in the transformative power of education and empowerment and know that understanding rights and how to activate them is a necessary first step to building a culture of human rights in housing.
We speak up when we see injustice
CCHR fights for the right to housing across Canada by advocating unapologetically on behalf of the people and communities we serve. We bring attention to issues of housing injustice and believe in the power of human rights law and rights-based advocacy to advance housing justice for all.
