Candlelighters exists to be a shining light for Manitoba families who are affected by childhood cancer.

Candlelighters vision is to provide meaningful emotional, social, informational and tangible support as well as creating connection between families.  

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Group (CCCSG) is a 100% volunteer led support group for Manitoba families facing a childhood cancer diagnosis.  

Every single penny donated goes directly toward our mission.

Every member of the CCCSG executive are parent volunteers who have, or have had, a child with cancer.  We are a handful of parents trying to raise a money to continue with our mission.  

What do we do?

-provide parking passes on the children's cancer ward (CK5) so that parents don't need to worry about the additional cost of parking for extended stays

-arrange 6+ events throughout the year, including our annual family camp, where we host 25-30 families

-provide food gift cards and other necessities for families on CK5

-provide a snack cupboard on CK5 that's filled with assorted snacks, coffee, and tea (stocked monthly)

-send out quarterly newsletters

-provide newly diagnosed families with a $500 gas/grocery gift card, information package and a HOPE blanket for their child

-provide $500 gift card scholarships to childhood cancer survivor high school graduates

-send weekly hot meals to CK5 for the parent staying with their child

-send meals to struggling/palliative families

-help with bereavement costs for families who have lost their child
