Established prior to 1771 the cemetery operates today caring for graves of some of the first English speaking settlers to this area.
Established prior to 1771 the cemetery still operates today and was incorporated in 1875 under the name, Chebogue Cemetery Company. The property, located at 21 Town Point Road in Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia overlooks the scenic Chebogue River. Graves of Mayflower descendants and some of the first English speaking settlers of the "Township of Yarmouth" are located here.
Today the cemetery operates under the direction of a President and several Trustees who volunteer their time to oversee the work of maintaining this property. We are grateful to receive financial support through donations to help with the care and maintenance of this beautiful and historic cemetery grounds and buildings.
