CHILLIWACK SEARCH AND RESCUE SOCIETY

Around 100 times each year, Chilliwack Search & Rescue is called upon to help those in need who by misfortune, lack of experience or poor judgment find themselves in trouble in and around Chilliwack and its vast surrounding backcountry. Chilliwack Search & Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization working under the direction of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Emergency Management BC and in coordination with the Chilliwack Fire Department, Emergency Heath Services and the Coroner.

Chilliwack Search & Rescue responds to emergencies anywhere in 1100 square Kilometers of urban, rural, mountainous, swift water and wilderness terrain – a mandate that stretches from the Vedder Canal to Chilliwack Lake, and from the US border to the Fraser River.
