The Cathedral strives to be a centre of thoughtful Christianity in the Nation's Capital, and to be a welcoming and peaceful place for people of all ages to gather for prayer, friendship and encouragement.
The Cathedral celebrates and promotes excellence in sacred music, and its choir of men and boys and its girl's choir are highly regarded. The Cathedral also hosts captivating performances of the arts and other community events which draw people from all walks of life.
Christ Church Cathedral has been a place of prayer since 1832, first as a small parish serving the early settlement of Bytown, and since 1897 as the Cathedral of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. It also serves as the Cathedral of the Canadian Forces
