The mandate of the Church is to be a fellowship committed to carrying out the Ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ in proclaiming, teaching and healing through the power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:18,19).

We hold the belief that the greatest needs of our society and the world can be met by a response to the Gospel as revealed by the Word of God (Matthew 28:18-20).

We are convinced that this work is best carried out by local congregations and individuals as part of the whole Body of Christ in Canada and the World. The organizational structure of the Church shall support this conviction (Romans 12).

The name of the church manifests the simplicity of its approach. The Spirit embodied in the name has existed throughout the history and origins of the Christian faith. Incorporated nationally with clergy licenses being issued initially in Ontario, the Church maintains the ability to respond flexibly to changes in society and the Church at large. Clergy will be ordained, as befits the need, to a wide spectrum of individual or group missions, local congregations and ministries.

The Church strives to avoid the encumbrances of denominational hierarchy and organization. Existing congregations, Clergy and workers, guided by the Spirit to seek more local autonomy, will be welcomed, as will individuals called to unique ministries of service to Jesus Christ.
