This event will raise much needed funding for the CWH Foundation, which exists to help provide access to clean water for families in Haiti. By working with our sister organization, the Clean Water for Haiti Foundation in Haiti, we're able to build and install biosand water filters in Haitian homes.
Most people in Haiti don't have piped water in their homes and are reliant on community water sources, which might be a pump or tap, but in many cases are canals that run by their homes. Most water sources in Haiti are contaminated, leading to illness and even death. The biosand water filter can removed these water-borne diseases, including Cholera, and give families the ability to take control of their own health.
We believe in empowering people, so all of our filters are built in Haiti by local Haitians and using local materials as much as possible. This provides employment and helps boost the local economy, on top of providing access to clean water.
All funds raised from this event will help provide more filters for the people of Haiti.
Event attendees will enjoy a dessert buffet with live music provided by Melissa Rempel. A silent auction will feature items crafted in Haiti by local artisans as well as items donated by local businesses. Leslie Rolling, one of the directors from our sister organization, the Clean Water for Haiti Foundation, will be joining us from Haiti and sharing about the life changing work that is happening through the work of CWH.
If you aren't able to attend the event, but would like to make a donation, we would very much appreciate it!
Thanks for being part of this great event!
