About Early Music Vancouver

All art exists on a continuum. Looking back, we can see paths form and lines connecting the many disparate elements. Early Music Vancouver (EMV) is an organization that reaches back into this history and casts beautifully preserved antiquities in fresh light. By preserving and presenting this music with the authentic instruments and traditions intended, Early Music Vancouver fosters an understanding and appreciation of these unique moments in time. This mission is carried out through a vast range of initiatives and programs – whether it is presenting concerts, providing instruction, hosting lectures, or preserving instruments themselves, our organization’s dedication and passion rings out in everything we do. Early Music Vancouver brings light and life to artistic treasures that could otherwise be all too easily lost. It has a Main Season that runs through the Fall, Winter and Spring and an annual, three-week-long summer festival and educational program based at UBC. It is one of the most active presenting organisations in the city of Vancouver.
