Welcome to the  Ehipassiko Meditation Centre

We are a Buddhist non-profit organization practicing Theravada Buddhism, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We welcome anyone that wants to come and learn about Buddhism and what the Buddha taught - it’s in our name! - Ehipassiko (A-he-pass-iko) in pali means ‘Come and See’.

The purpose of the Ehipassiko Meditation Centre is to provide resources and support for anyone that is interested in understanding and practicing Buddha’s teachings. Two Bhikkhus (Buddhist Monks) currently residing at the Meditation Center provide us with spiritual guidance and teaching. In addition to resident monks, we partner with other Theravada monks from around the world to further expand the spiritual teachings offered by the Centre.

Ehipassiko Meditation Centre is operated by the Sri Lankan Buddhist Society Calgary (SLBSC). We were established in January 1995 as a religious, charitable, non profit organization registered with the province of Alberta under the Societies act and also as a Canadian Registered charity (CRA charity #879274652).
