About Feed Nova Scotia

Each month, tens of thousands of Nova Scotians access food support across the province, with many more struggling silently. In fact, nearly one in three Nova Scotians are facing food insecurity, meaning that our work is more important than ever before. 

Our mission is to partner to create systemic changes, while responding to the immediate need for dignified, secure, and just access to food. 

To achieve this, we distribute more than six million pounds food each year to 138 food banks, meal programs, and shelters across the province. But we also know that more food isn't the solution to food insecurity; we're also supporting member agencies as they build capacity to serve their communities, educating and advocating about the root causes of food insecurity, and partnering to fund new, innovative ways to solve food insecurity.
