Our Mission

Franklin Preschool Society is a not for profit charitable organization that operates Franklin Community Preschool, located in the Vancouver Heights neighbourhood of East Vancouver. We offer services to children 3 - 5 years old within the catchment area of Franklin Community Elementary. At our preschool, we value and respect children of all races, religions, cultures, and abilities. We believe in inclusiveness for all children. We see children as our partners in learning and they help us to become the best early childhood educators we can be. Partnerships with families and communities strengthen the ability to meet the needs of young children. In addition, we believe that as a united front with our community, we will grow together.

About Franklin Preschool Society

Franklin Preschool Society was founded in 2009 to operate Franklin Community Preschool, which has been in existence since 1977. It is run by a dedicated group of parent volunteers. All of our teachers are Early Childhood Education professionals with a wealth of experience working with preschool aged children.

At Franklin, we strive to provide a fun and open learning environment for children to socialize and have a positive, enriching beginning to their first school experience.

We emphasize peer relationships through socialization during small and large group activities. We offer daily art, science and math activities, music and movement, and much more.

We are also actively involved with the elementary school by participating in assemblies, performances, buddy reading, sports day and other special events.
