About GBGH Foundation

The Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation (GBGHF) connects the community to their hospital, facilitating financial support for critical equipment purchases and special projects at Georgian Bay General.  GBGHF is a registered charitable organization.

In Ontario, provincial government funding does not pay for ANY equipment in hospitals.  Our communities are responsible for upgrading and maintaining the tools and equipment necessary for our Best Care; this includes Beds and Stretchers, vital signs monitors, stress test machines, CT Scanners and everything in between.

The first Hospital Foundation was established locally in 1988 to raise money for a hospital expansion and improvements. 

Your gift to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation helps make critical improvements for patients by funding life-saving technology, priority medical equipment and service redesign. Over $750,000 is needed annually by the Georgian Bay General Hospital for capital equipment and facility enhancements.

Donations ensure a hi-tech healing environment in a compassionate, caring setting. Up-to-date technology and upgrades to equipment and facilities also help attract new physicians and health care professionals to our communities.

About Our Hospital

Georgian Bay General Hospital serves 65,000 full time residents and more than 150,000 seasonal residents and visitors during the summer from the communities of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny and Tay Townships. In addition, permanent and seasonal residents of Springwater, Georgian Bay and Oro-Medonte Townships use our hospital services.
