About Haven Family Connections
The love of family is critical for children’s success. We support parents in times of need, provide children with a loving temporary home, and share skills and parenting resources for maintaining the family bond.
We are here to help families thrive so that kids can be kids and so that parents can be successful. Together we strive to build a foundation for families and children.
We offer three programs which help families be successful:
Haven Kids' House (previously Crisis Nursery) is a 10 bed emergency home for children whose families are experiencing a crisis, emergency or difficult time. If there is no safe care available, kids can stay at Haven Kids' House while the problem is being resolved. Respite is often a critical need for parents in crisis.
Haven Kids' House provides this free service and our 24-hour crisis line to all Saskatoon and area families in crisis.
Haven Family Support focuses on maintaining the family unit and the well-being of children through in-home mentoring and family advocacy, enhancing family wellness and reducing the need for child apprehension. Family Support Workers go directly into homes and assist families with child development, parenting skills, communication skills, and becoming aware of community resources.
Our Mission
Through preventative respite and active intervention, we work together to strengthen and preserve families. Families belong together.
Our Vision
Families are actively supported to stay together, keeping children safe, and reducing the need for child- protective services and crisis intervention in their lives and in our community.
