Our Mission

The purpose of James Bay New Horizons Society is to provide opportunities for individuals to lead more meaningful, active, healthy, and complete lives and to provide facilities that will assist in achieving and maintaining the desired objectives as follows:

- Operating an Activity Centre in the James Bay area

- Organizing activities in the fields of recreation, area beautification, area history, nutrition, travel, arts and crafts, social and community relations, culture and education

- Providing advocacy for the needs of the members

- Raising the necessary funds to accomplish the purpose of the society.

About JAMES BAY NEW HORIZONS SOCIETY

James Bay New Horizons is a not-for-profit society, established in 1974, operating an activity centre in the neighbourhood community of James Bay in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

We provide accessible programs, services and volunteer opportunities to our members and to local residents in general. It is our goal to help people maintain, improve and develop new skills, interests and social opportunities, and to enhance the quality of life of our members and visitors.

We publish a Weekly Bulletin, a monthly Calendar of Events, a newsletter entitled The Spirit, and a seasonal Program Guide (courses, workshops and services available at the activity centre).
