Located in the Town of Sooke, we are a volunteer organization that operates a marine rescue station 24 Hours a day, 365 days of the year.

About our provincial organization
Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue is a volunteer-based organization that operates more than 30 marine rescue stations on the British Columbia coast and in the B.C. Interior. From Vancouver’s busy harbor to the remote waters of the North Coast, our volunteer crews are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond to marine emergencies.
Who is Station 37, Sooke, British Columbia?
Locally your Sooke station responds to an average of 30 calls per year with 70% of those being in the Sooke Basin. Our area of operation stretches from Port Renfrew all the way to Race Rocks. Our crews are highly trained and equipped with specialized rescue vessels designed for the challenges of the West Coast. These volunteers from the Sooke area take time away from their jobs and families to provide this essential service. We are the people keeping visitors to Sooke and its citizens safe on the water.

Most of the funding for this vital public safety service comes from generous donations from individuals, companies, and community grants.
