The program will feature pre-existing works by Meredith Monk, Caroline Shaw, Andrew Balfour, and Stuart Beatch, as well as a collection of new works submitted by composers from marginalized identities to the Eastern Horizon Choral Writing Competition. These shortlisted new works will be premiered at the concert, and the first and second place winners will be announced.

Sink your teeth into the newest ensemble presenting at the Choral Feast in St John's Lunenburg with Musique Royale!  Eastern Horizon is a new project-based choir from Choirs for Change consisting of seasoned singers from across Nova Scotia. In it's spring concert series, the choir will celebrate exceptional choral works from composers of marginalized identities. The event will feature pre-existing repertoire from established artists and a collection of new world premieres submitted by composers for the new Eastern Horizon choral writing competition. From these outstanding shortlisted composer finalists, whose works will be premiered, first and second place awards will be recognized. Directed by Jack Bennet and Christina Murray, and accompanied by Lynette Wahlstrom, Eastern Horizon is thrilled to be partnering with Musique Royale to present this concert for the music community in Lunenburg.
