September 9, 2018

A walk to raise funds to support families across BC - with a focus on grandparents and other relatives who are raising children because the parent are unable. There are at least 13,000 children in BC being raised in these families. These kids have often experienced trauma and have unique needs. Parent Support Services Society provides peer-to-peer Support Circles, a Support Line and other resources for these families. 

On September 9th, where ever you live in BC, you can register to walk for families.

There will gathering in the Lower Mainland, Prince George, Victoria, Nanaimo and Kamloops. The events in each location will vary.

Détails

In the Lower Mainland:

New Westminster  - 810 Quayside Drive - beside the River Market. The event will run from 10-2 pm. Walk starts at 11 am. With live entertainment and family activities.

Prince George:

Paddlewheel Park off Hamilton Ave. Event runs from 11-1 pm. Fun activities.

Victoria:

Willows Beach - Oak Bay. 12 - 2 pm

Nanaimo:

Bowen Park - Lower Picnic Shelter 11-2 pm

We are cost-effective, supporting 935 families with 236 volunteers who put in 9502 volunteer hours. We also provide educational workshops, resources, and operate Canada's only Support Line for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.
