The Ponoka (Alberta, Canada) FCSS Cancer Fund utilizes financial gifts and bequests to reduce the financial burden occurring for persons who have a cancer diagnosis and are in treatment. The cancer fund is available to individuals and families who reside within the Ponoka FCSS Region. (Town of Ponoka and East half of the County of Ponoka within Alberta, Canada)
The general purpose of the Cancer Fund is to:
- Help to alleviate financial burden of cost of cancer treatments, medical supplies and equipment and transportation for medical appointments and treatments related to the diagnosis of cancer.
- Focus on the local community
- Assist community members who are facing difficulty and/or special circumstances that cannot be funded through other sources. (Avoiding duplication of funding and services).
- Use a system that disseminates funds in a fair and just manner which focuses on the identified needs, gaps in services and priorities of individuals and families within Ponoka and area.
PLEASE NOTE: None of the monies from the cancer fund account can be utilized to support the operating budget of Ponoka FCSS.
