Aperçu

Fire. It is warmth. It is fuel. It is light. Our need for it unites us all. This year, we continue to experience the power and energy of the four elements at the Community Foundation’s 18th Annual Cultural Gala: The Spirit of Fire. Beautiful and hypnotic, performances from diverse cultures around Saskatoon will bring audiences into celebrations of fire.

For the first time, the gala will commission new artistic collaborations between Indigenous and newcomer youth—igniting young passions and pride, building a transformative experience for artist and audience. Featuring literary arts for the first time, audiences will be mesmerized by a theatrical introduction to Métis author Maria Campbell’s Little Badger and The Fire Spirit. Taste the unique flavours prepared over the fire by Saskatoon’s finest chefs. In a spectacular finale, we will all participate in lighting the fire—an expression of our commitment to make our community inclusive and prosperous for all. Don’t miss the Cultural Gala’s Spirit of Fire—it is sure to warm your heart.

A portion of proceeds raised will grow the Community Fund for Reconciliation
