The Cape Breton Orchestra is the only orchestra between Sydney and Halifax. We entertain audiences with a variety of music, from classical favorites to contemporary Canadian compositions, and from blockbuster film music to current Broadway hits. Your donation will help the CBO continue its important cultural and educational work in our community.

For almost thirty years, the CBO has provided performance opportunities for musicians of all levels of experience and interest. We have mature musicians, both professional and amateur. We also maintain a special focus on high school students seeking entrance to music schools and a first step toward a professional career. The CBO experience helps them make the transition from school bands to adult ensembles, often giving them centre-stage solo performance opportunities. Several of our young members have gone on to study music at Acadia University, Mount Allison, and the University of Toronto, among other institutions.
