"Oh Bondage Up Yours"represents more than a song title to costume designer Ines Ortner. The 18-year-old composer/singer of that song, who called herself Poly Styrene, stood against consumerism and plastic. This was way back in 1977.

Artist Ines Ortner embraced the movement. She has preserved some of her own outfits from that time and will present them and explain how sociopolitical implications influenced how “punks” behaved, what they wore and why they wore it.

Join us Sunday, November 27th when SMOC presents “Oh Bondage Up Yours…Punk, Anti-Fashion and DIY”.  Doors open at 1 p.m. and the show starts at 2 p.m till 4.

Make sure to wear your 'ugly' Christmas sweater!
