Aperçu

At this time of year we know there are many families and agencies in need of extra assistance in providing support and necessities during the holiday season. Stepping Stone is one of these agencies.

As you may know, Stepping Stone is a non-profit organization that supports and provides options for current and former street level survival based sex trade workers and their families. We are the only organization of its kind east of Montreal and it is increasingly difficult to find support during these times and others due to the nature and circumstances they are surviving under.

Our annual holiday party will be held December 22, 2017, and is a much-anticipated gathering, especially for children when Santa visits to deliver their gifts.

Our clients have anticipated our holiday celebration for over 25 years. In the past, it has been the only opportunity our clients have to partake in the holiday season and strengthen and build a sense of community among our clients. We are asking for donations of items of need, gift cards, turkeys for the holiday meal, or anything else you can donate, to ensure that our holiday party continues to be a success. Of particular request are personal hygiene products and toys/items for children.

We would appreciate your generosity and thank you for your time.

À propos de cet organisme

Our Mission Stepping Stone is one of the oldest non-profit organizations in Canada that provides support and services to individuals currently and formerly involved in the sex trade. The people we serve are diverse, and include women, men, trans-gendered individuals, indigenous peoples, minorities, and so on. We advocate for their human rights and equal access to community supports such as health care and social services. Stepping Stone believes that all individuals have the right to choice and self determination; regardless of their occupation. Our organization meets people where they are. If and when an individual decides to exit the trade, we also support them in their choice through our transition support program. We identify and strive to eliminate the gaps and challenges that exists when someone attempts to exit sex work.
