Join us for the final Creative Champions event of 2018! Featuring Toronto Arts Council Board Chair Susan Crocker (whose prolific board experience also includes terms as Chair of the Canadian Stage Company and the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts), we will look at the special leadership role and responsibilities of chairing an arts board – from maintaining the board itself as an engaged and productive team, to ensuring that it provides effective strategic and governance support, while building strong bridges to community and supporters. Chairing an arts board has been described as a “delicate game” - which can have a profound impact on an arts organization’s success and sustainability. Our panel discussion will provide a 360-degree perspective on the qualities and skills of a good board chair.
This session will be followed by a festive celebration of and for Toronto’s stalwart arts board chairs, co-hosted by the Royal Ontario Museum and Creative Champions Network: celebrate your good work and achievements with a holiday toast and refreshments!
