Transforming Faces (TF) will host a private movie screening of the film Wonder, followed by a brief panel discussion featuring Farah Sheikh, a member of the Cleft Unit at SickKids Hospital, and SickKids patients who met with lead actor, Jacob Tremblay (playing Auggie) and offered him insight on life with a facial difference. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with TF's work more deeply, and learn what it is like to experience life with a facial difference like cleft lip and palate.
About Wonder: Based on a bestselling novel, Wonder tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August "Auggie" Pullman, a 10-year-old boy with facial differences who attends mainstream elementary school for the first time.
Families are welcome, and Wonder is recommended for kids ages 8 and up.
Guests have the opportunity to contribute to TF's work online or at the event. Donations will be matched by an anonymous donor who believes in the work of TF.
