Our Mission

YWCA Calgary is a community-based organization that supports women and their families to build safety, confidence and lasting stability through integrated programs in domestic violence, crisis support, housing, mental health and economic empowerment.

About YWCA Calgary

Calgary is a growing and evolving community that has seen over 19% population growth in the last five years. Women and families are navigating increasing pressures—from housing instability to inequity and violence, while seeking connection, belonging and real opportunity.

For more than 115 years, YWCA Calgary has been a safe place for women and families—offering support, stability and opportunity when it’s needed most. From shelter to counselling, child development and healthy relationship skills to financial and economic learning, YWCA provides options for women, men and children.

Our Impact

We are standing with her and never standing still. 

• Domestic Violence | Healthy Relationships: 6,500+ participants were supported to build and sustain healthy relationships.
• Mental Health | Health Equity: 4,000+ individuals built self-awareness, gained tools to enhance emotional resilience and increased their ability to access supports.
• Economic Prosperity: 3,300+ participants were supported to enhance their economic security.

Together, these programs positively impacted 10,600 people directly and an estimated 32,000 across our community.
