Mission: Amethyst supports women and gender-diverse individuals by offering a range of alternative addiction services. Our mission is to support our community to take control of factors that impact our health and well-being in healing and recovery.  

Philosophy: Amethyst’s work is grounded in the feminist belief that women and gender-diverse individuals’ experiences with substances and gambling cannot be separated from our experiences that are rooted in gender-based oppression; we also acknowledge that gender-based oppression intersects with racism, ableism, homophobia, classism, cissexism, colonialism, and other forms of oppression. Our approach makes direct links between systemic inequality, various forms of gender-based violence, and addiction. By exploring these connections, individually and collectively, we help people make changes that enhance strength, freedom, and choice. 

Vision: Amethyst aspires to safety, equity, and justice for our community; we envision a future free of oppressive systems that place women and gender-diverse individuals at risk of addiction and violence.
