St. George’s Church is located in the heart of downtown Moncton, at the corner of Church and Queen Streets. It is the third Church on the site and has deep spiritual roots in the community. Fully accessible by elevator, the building is comprised of the main Church, the Chapel of St. Mary and All Angels, the Church Hall, and the Parish Office.
While our Congregation is diverse in its make-up, with people of all walks of life, we are single-minded in concentrating on the downtown neighborhood as our primary focus for mission and ministry. And, we believe that in order to be effective witnesses for Christ our souls and bodies must be regularly engaged in prayer. To this end, by God’s grace, each week begins with the Sunday Eucharists (at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.) and Evensong at 5:00 p.m. and then the Daily Offices of Morning and Evening Prayer are offered from Monday through Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. These daily Services, including the Thursday 10:00 a.m. Eucharist, are held in the side Chapel of St. Mary and All Angels.
Children play a big role in the life of St. George’s. In fact, on Sundays there is a Children’s Talk at the main Service (10:00 a.m.) before the children go to their Sunday School classes. Children also take their part in the Liturgy as – Bell ringers, Candle bearers. Missal carriers, Crucifiers, and Servers. Nursery care is available in the Church Hall for babies and toddlers, and “pew packs” and colouring pages are always on hand for the children to take into the pew with them when they return to the Service from Sunday School.
Following the Sunday Eucharist at 10:00 a.m., we gather in the Church Hall for coffee and conversation. We look forward to meeting you there!
