Located on Vancouver Island in the municipality of Saanich, the Parish of St. Luke Cedar Hill is less than fifteen minutes from downtown Victoria, BC. Sunday services are held at 8:30 am, 10:30 am and 7:00 pm. Sunday School and a "prayground" are offered at the 10:30 am service.
St. Luke's hosts Fantastic Fridays once a month (like Messy Church), attracting 40-60 people from the community. The parish has a strong relationship with Lutheran Church of the Cross across the street. Music is an important component of the services at St. Luke's. Organ, piano, choral scholars, soloists and instrumentalists all add to the musical experience.
St. Luke's supports outreach in the community through monetary donations and other assistance to groups such as the Shelbourne Community Kitchen, the Mustard Seed, Our Place, the Greater Victoria Coalition to End Homelessness and Victoria Cool Aid Society as well as international projects through the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund.
St. Luke's started as a mission in 1860 with the present wooden church building consecrated in 1888. St. Luke’s Churchyard is one of Victoria’s earliest church burial grounds and the final resting place of many Cedar Hill, Lake Hill and Gordon Head pioneers as well as others who settled in the area.
