With 1 in 4 children living in a food insecure household, Ottawa has a food crisis. Withan estimated 40,000 children are arriving to their school hungry, bright futures and dreams are hard to achieve when a basic meal becomes a luxury.
Kiwanis Feeds Kids initiative is focused on addressing the nutritional needs of children and youth in the community. The program will provide a daily hot, nutritious and culturally appropriate school lunch to 600+ school-aged children living in transitional housing.

Kiwanis International activities support the Kiwanis causes: Health and Nutrition, Education and Literacy, and Youth leadership development. For the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa this includes the Kiwanis Holiday Hampers, and many Direct Assistance projects.
