As an urban United Church, your donation will support Cummer Avenue United Church and our social justice programs. We actively support and run The Drop Inn, a program for the homeless and hungry in our neighbourhood which provides a Wednesday breakfast and lunch time program.
We also support Don Valley Refugee Resettlers together with Bayview, Forest Grove, Lansing, Taiwanese, and Willowdale United Churches and St. George on Yonge and St. Theodore of Canterbury Anglican churches. Through the private sponsorship program of the Canadian government, DVRR welcomes the relocation of refugees to Canada and help those who are new to Canada find their way.
We are a community of Christians, seeking to grow in faith, reaching out to others, and working for social justice.
We are a community that strives to create: 1. A safe and compassionate environment; 2. Worship and music that support diversity; 3. Experiences that inspire responsive action; 4. Activities that promote fellowship, and sharing of gifts; 5. Programs that adapt to a changing world.
1. The Word of God and the teachings of Jesus; 2. Learning opportunities for all ages; 3. Listening; and communicating to find common ground; 4. Respecting God's creation, especially the environment; 5. Fellowship and working with each other to build community.
