Giving our seniors the respect they deserve and the help they need

June is Seniors’ Month in Ontario, celebrating the contributions of our seniors to the prosperity of our society.

In this month, dedicated to honoring seniors’ lives, I am very pleased to announce the new Cardinal Family Matching Gift.

On behalf of the residents, staff and volunteers of the Care Centre, I would like to express my deep gratitude and admiration for the Cardinal Family’s extraordinary generosity and compassion for our seniors.

Jim Cardinal along with his sons Jimmy Cardinal Jr. and Andrew Cardinal have pledged another $40,000 this year and will match every new donation received at the Care Centre this month and till the end of the year dollar for dollar up to $40,000.

“My family and I are very happy to make another Matching Gift this year and help the Care Centre sustain their great service to the community.  We realize that providing quality long-term care to frail seniors with complex health conditions requires a lot of resources, and that community support is critical to sustain the Care Centre and with it the quality of life of many frail seniors. My parents taught me that life is to be cherished in all stages and that every moment in life is precious for everyone, young and old alike. It gives me joy thinking that through the Matching Gift Challenge my family as well as the many supporters of the Care Centre will give our seniors precious moments of comfort and joy, and the feeling of being respected and cared for. It is up to us, the ones who have the ability to help, to make our seniors feel valued and appreciated. I urge you to join the Cardinal Family Matching Gift Challenge and make a donation to the Care Centre, which will be matched dollar for dollar by the Cardinal Family.

 I would also like to encourage you to make a donation in this special month of June, celebrating the many contributions of seniors.   The Care Centre will post the names of the donors on a visible place in the Care Centre’s Winter Garden. If you would like to designate your donation in honour of a senior who is special to you, we can send a special card to your honouree, letting them know that a donation is made in their honour in June Seniors’ Month in Ontario, celebrating the lives of our seniors.

By making a donation in June Seniors’ Month in Ontario, you will double the impact of your donation and you will have an opportunity to recognize a special senior in your life.

Your donation today will help us complete the repairs and improve the quality of life of our seniors!
