Shawnigan Lake Museum

Registered Name: SHAWNIGAN LAKE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Business Number: 816072946RR0001

The Shawnigan Lake Museum is an arts and culture non-profit located at the heart of Shawnigan Lake, BC. Our museum features original artworks from internationally renowned E.J. Hughes, the Canadian Last Spike, a rich archival records base, a retro theatre with historical presentations and live workshops, interactive displays, and the history of the breathtaking Kinsol Trestle.
The museum builds local community through education, large and small family-centred events, and fostering the spirit of volunteerism in local youth.
Since opening the museum doors in 1983 we’ve been committed to enriching the lives of residents and visitors of all ages by ensuring our community has a welcoming and permanent place to gather, learn, and build connection. By sharing and realizing out common roots we create memories, and those memories become history.
