The Shawnigan Lake Museum is an arts and culture not-for-profit located in the heart of Shawnigan Lake, BC. The museum shares the passion for Shawnigan Lake - past, present and future. It features interactive displays; original drawings from internationally renowned artist E.J. Hughes; the history of the breathtaking Kinsol Trestle; has a rich archival records base and a retro theatre with historical presentations. The Society offers live and online talks and workshops, and community and school programming.
The museum builds local community through education, large and small family-centred events, and fosters the spirit of volunteerism in local youth and adults.
Since the museum opened in 1983 the Society has been committed to enriching the lives of residents and visitors of all ages by ensuring that the community has a welcoming and permanent place to gather, to learn, and to connect and re-connect with community. Our team is passionate about growth, innovation and collaboration.
