In 2023 we successfully raised $150,000 towards our Music Therapy Moves Us Campaign. After the resounding success of the campaign, we’ve decided to extend it another year with the goal of raising an additional $150,000 towards making music therapy accessible in 2024.

Last year, our focus was on bringing music therapy to children and youth, especially from underserved communities. This year, we’re focusing on bringing music therapy to older adults facing cognitive decline from illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. When these diseases progress, they often impair the individual’s ability to communicate with those around them, including their loved ones. Music therapy is a non-threatening and often non-verbal way to provide these adults with a method of expression that can be adapted to their unique needs. This year, we will be providing national clinical grants to support music therapy programs for these populations as well as continuing to grow our services at the Music Therapy Centre in Toronto.
