About Afro-Canadian Positive Network of BC
Since 2009, ACPNET-BC has worked to:
- Provide computer literacy, education, and occupational skills
- Strengthen support for all living with HIV/AIDS and their families
- Empower the community to identify and make use of the available resources and opportunities for self-sustainability
- De-stigmatize HIV/AIDS by participating in open, non-judgmental and non-discriminatory events
- Provide moral and emotional support for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS
- Recognize different cultural and serivce needs
- Promote aspirations for personal growth and integration into Canadian society
- Promote peer counseling to encourage informed decisions that aim to improve quality of life, focusing on a balance between rights and responsibilities
- Ensure dignity and respect to all with due regard to confidentiality
