Our Mission
In partnership with our community, Bethesda House provides secure shelter and woman-centered advocacy and support to women and their children, to empower them to live free from fear, gender-based abuse and violence.
About Bethesda House
Bethedsa House Shelter & Outreach Services
Bethesda House is located in Durham Region, east of Toronto. Since 1992 the agency has provided a wide range of services to women and their families dealing with gender-based abuse and violence. Services include:
- 24 hour telephone crisis counselling
- Secure, temporary shelter for women with and without
- Child & Youth Worker support to shelter mothers and children
- 1:1 and group counselling to both shelter and community clients
- Community-based 1:1 and group counselling for youth (both female and male)
- Educational workshops and presentations regarding domestic violence / woman abuse / relationship abuse / bullying / healthy relationships, etc. geared to the specific target audience (ie. general audience, professional audience, children, youth, etc.)
