Our Purpose
To give people living with disabilities the opportunity to eliminate barriers that have prevented them in experiencing the Joy and Freedom of Snowsports.
Not only in a fun and inclusive environment that embraces diversity but in an accessible community that treats each individual with respect.
About CADS
CADS is a National organization with over 5,000 members, both volunteers and program participants. There are programs running at ski areas across the country and we host an annual Ski & Snowboard Festival week which attracts students, athletes, instructor, Coaches, Friends, Families & caregivers from across the country.
CADS is recognized nationally and internationally for its leadership in alpine adaptive snowsports.
CADS GOALS
- The goal of each provincial CADS division is to strengthen and develop new initiatives for participants arising from the evolution of the Adaptive/Para-Alpine Long-Term Skier Development (LTSD) plan. It is also to collaborate on providing quality training and certification to instructors, volunteers & coaches.
- The ultimate goal is to increase the visibility and opportunities for Canadians living with disabilities who wish to learn to ski and develop the confidence and competence to ski independently and have fun.
- CADS is recognized nationally and internationally with our mission to develop and promote adaptive skiing and snowboarding through partnerships, training, and instructor certification programs.
- With over 5,000 active members, CADS, directly and through its 10 Divisions and network of over 61 local Programs, ski schools and associate programs from coast to coast CADS goal is to provide quality opportunities for people with disabilities in Canada to experience the joy of participating and/or competing in adaptive skiing or snowboarding.
- CADS Goal is to increase the number of certified instructors across Canada to meet the demand of increasing waiting lists of students and to get 1 certified instructor in every snow school across Canada.
