For half a century, Ottawa-Gatineau's independent campus–community broadcaster has amplified local music, shared underrepresented stories, and brought diverse voices to the airwaves. As Canada's first campus-based FM station, we've built a legacy rooted in people, participation, and purpose.
That legacy matters more than ever. Across Canada, local media is shrinking. As big outlets cut back, stations like CKCU step up, keeping local voices alive, building trust, and training the next generation of media makers.
CKCU is free, accessible, and powered by people. More than 100 volunteers create programming in many languages and across every genre. A small staff team provides training, mentorship, and daily support. Listeners and donors like you make it all possible.
