About Kadampa Meditation Centre Montreal
In the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal, KMC Montreal is the mother centre of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU) in Quebec. The NKT_IKBU counts more than 1,100 branches and centres around the world. The Montreal centre was opened more than 25 years ago.
We offer a wide variety of activities - introduction to meditation, introduction to Buddhism, workshops, retreats and 3 study programs - thourhg which you can learn how to integrate Buddha's teachings into your daily life.
In Buddhism, meditation is the main tool to change the mind. It is a method to develop and maintain inner peace and develop all our qualities. It reduces stress and other mental busyness to make our mind peaceful and positive. In this way we become more beneficial towards others.
