CAPE works to better understand how the environment affects human health in order to be a resource to others. We educate our members, other physicians and health professionals, the public, and policy-makers about environmental health issues, such as health risks associated with the use of agricultural pesticides, climate change, coal plants, fracking, as well as the health benefits of active transportation, such as cycling and public transit. We also educate doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals about how to make hospitals and medical clinics more environmentally friendly.
