IWalk for the National Holocaust Monument

Canada’s National Holocaust Monument has the untapped potential to reach and teach tens of thousands of students and tourists each year about the Holocaust with an emphasis on the role antisemitism played in the Holocaust and the dangers of hate and antisemitism today. CHES and Liberation75 have joined together with the USC Shoah Foundation to create an ambitious, interactive IWalk App to encourage student groups and tourists to visit the Monument – and to educate them about the reality of the Holocaust and the dangers of antisemitism and hate. Read more here.

The goal of this educational project is to combine the physical experience of the National Holocaust Monument with virtual interactive experiences to expand the understanding of the history of the Holocaust and the experience of Canadian Holocaust survivors - with an emphasis on the role of historic antisemitism, leading to today’s contemporary antisemitism.

This will be accomplished by “walking” students and tourists through the Monument using an innovative, professionally curated educational program on their mobile devices, featuring first-hand Holocaust survivor testimony, to complement the stories featured at the Monument. This type of interactive experience has been created with great success at Holocaust destinations around the world.

With your support, we can build a truly educational and immersive experience available to all who visit the National Holocaust Monument.
