Connecting High Quality Music and Seniors in Care
Concerts in Care Ontario performances bring beauty and energy to seniors in care facilities with the healing power of professional live music performances. Our musicians create moments of joy that honour the dignity and well-being of our audiences.
Music is integral to human experience. It is an essential element in our emotional landscape. In retirement and long-term care homes, music is the prevalent program activity because scientific research connects the positive mental and emotional health of our aging population with their exposure to live music.
We curate concerts performed exclusively by top calibre professional musicians. Managers know that our turnkey service is as excellent as the music. Our musicians fulfill their passion, while sharing compassion with their aging audiences.
We serve long-term & memory care, assisted & independent living, and palliative care facilities, seniors living at home who are members of active day programs, as well as seniors who make up 50% of residents in shelters and supportive housing.
Our concerts are 45-60 minutes in length, featuring music that ranges from classical, jazz, and American Songbook to a growing number of culturally specific musicians.
We perform indoors, outdoors, via live interactive Zoom concerts, and 30-minute virtual recorded concerts.
In 2023, we toured for the first time: Sudbury-Manitoulin-Elliot Lake, North Bay-Mattawa-Deep River, and the Kawarthas, including two on-reserve concerts and musical exchanges in Wikwemikong and Curve Lake.
We support the arts
Since 2011, CiC Ontario has presented more than 2,300 concerts, reaching 108,000 seniors and caregivers live, with more than 200,000 virtual concert views, and 4,000 performer engagements. That represents a lot of smiles!
Help us continue to give the gift of music!
Your support allows us to bring joy and beloved music to some of the most vulnerable and at-risk members of our community.
