Cumberland County Museum & Archives is housed in Grove Cottage (c 1838), which was the family home of Senator R.B. Dickey, one of Amherst’s four Fathers of Canadian Confederation, who also include Sir Charles Tupper, E.B. Chandler and Jonathan McCully.
The museum presents the natural and human history of Cumberland County with emphasis on its industrial and social history up to the early 20th century.
Visitors can explore an art gallery, a collection of genealogy material, and a research room. An extensive archives is also maintained. Grove Cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens for our visitors to enjoy.
We invite you to take part in a variety activities including exhibits, programs, special events with historic themes and a gift shop.
