The visual display of crosses, with names and details of Kelowna’s Fallen in the 20th century, represents the cemeteries overseas in which they reside. Public access is during the day from November 2nd to the 12th in Kelowna's City Park.
The Okanagan Military Museum Society, the Kelowna Museums Society, the Rotary Club of Kelowna, the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 26, and like-minded community organizations, volunteers and vendors, collaborate to present the annual Field of Crosses to complement Kelowna’s annual Remembrance and Commemoration traditions in November.
Events
Opening Ceremonies for the Field of Crosses Kelowna 2025 will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday November 2 at the Kelowna Cenotaph and public visitation will be open daily during regular City Park hours until November 12. A special Candlelight Ceremony will also be held on Sunday November 9 at 4:45 pm which the public is invited to attend along with families representing descendants of the fallen named on the crosses.
Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteers are needed to install and take down the display, set up for ceremonies, provide onsite engagement with visitors, and distribute promotional materials in the community.
The Okanagan Military Museum Society and Kelowna Museums wish to thank the many volunteers, vendors and donors who work together each year to make this important event possible.
