THE FIRST ART PRESCRIPTION FOR MENTAL HEALTH.  ART PRESCRIPTIONThe Artruisme Foundation, located in Montreal, Quebec, is dedicated to promoting mental and emotional health well-being through its art therapy services. The Art Prescription program offers group Art Therapy workshops, in-person or virtual, and prescribed by health professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, etc.) or self-prescribed with a scientifically approved questionnaire. In addition, the Artruism Foundation conducts scientific research studies with UQAT.  All research studies are approved by the UQAT ethics committee.The Artruisme Foundation’s Art Prescription program for mental health allows health professionals to prescribe 12 art therapy group workshops (2 hours each) to individuals suffering from mild to moderate depression, anxiety, and/or isolation. This immediate help can result in reduced medical or emergency visits, reduced waiting lists in CIUSSS for access to psychotherapy care, reduced absenteeism at work and reduced costs to society in general.
