On March 13, 2020, we took the hard decision to close our youth services center at 489 Queen Street East in order to meet the health and safety requirements to support self-isolation strategies. Since then we increased our mental health and crisis support online and through phone, and have been adapting our programming to suit this new reality.
Our life-saving work is only possible because generous donors, partners, and volunteers in our community are so committed to supporting vulnerable LGBTQI2S youth.
This global pandemic is compounding the everyday issues LGBTQI2S youth continue to face in day-to-day life - from barriers to accessing healthcare and mental health services to facing higher rates of homelessness, poverty, and social isolation.
Now more than ever, supporting LGBTQI2S youth is essential amidst the global pandemic.
Friends of Ruby will continue to operate and dedicate efforts and services to the progressive well-being of LGBTQI2S youth through social services and housing support.
We are grateful to have you as an ally and friend. Please consider donating to our COVID-19 Relief efforts to reopen our physical space, and serve the youth who are most at-risk.
Our sincere thanks and well wishes, The Friends of Ruby Team
