Our mission is to Disrupt Poverty through Education. Education is one of the most powerful instruments for reducing poverty and inequality and for laying the basis for sustainable growth. It has strong links not just to productivity growth but to improved health, to the ability to understand the need to care for the natural environment, and even to population stabilization. L4H is based in Waterloo ON Canada, with offices in Kenya and Zambia, and partnerships in Zimbabwe, DR Congo and Liberia. There are over 250 million children globally who are in and out of school and have not learned to read, write or do basic math. Covid-19 has only exacerbated this. Despite the new challenges, L4H continues to be a conduit for hope by resourcing teachers and students with digital educational materials delivered to them by reliable systems that do not require internet and can mitigate harsh environments. We work through local “on-the-ground” organizations to ensure cultural alignment, cost-effectiveness, and long-term sustainability.
