Every month, we watch it happen: our spay/neuter program opens for applications, and within thirty minutes, every spot is gone. That's not just demand — that's need. Families who love their cats but can't afford a surgery. Colony caretakers doing their best for feral cats with nowhere else to turn. Kittens born into homes that were never prepared for a litter.

Since 2014, Surrey CATS has worked to change that story — one cat at a time.

We're a small, volunteer-run charity based in Surrey, BC, led by a board of three people who believe deeply that no cat should end up in a shelter simply because their family couldn't afford care. We don't run a shelter and we don't do adoptions ourselves — instead, we focus on keeping cats exactly where they belong: in the homes and communities that already love them.

What your donation makes possible:

Low-income spay/neuter surgeries — at roughly $315 per cat, these surgeries prevent the unwanted litters that overwhelm shelters and streets alike

A pet food bank — helping families going through hard times keep feeding the cat they love, instead of surrendering them

First Response Neonate Care provides immediate, short-term support for newborn and vulnerable kittens. We focus on stabilization, feeding, warmth, monitoring, and specialized neonatal care while helping connect kittens with an appropriate rescue for their ongoing care.

We currently fund around 25 surgeries a month — but the demand we see every single time applications open tells us there are so many more cats and families waiting. With more support, we can open more spots, help more colonies, and stop more cats from ever needing a shelter at all.
