Our mission is to empower the independence and full community participation of persons who have a spinal cord injury or mobility disability by providing innovative services and developing progressive public policy.
About Ability New Brunswick Inc.
Over 90,000 New Brunswickers live with a mobility disability. The sudden reality of a spinal cord injury or the onset of any mobility disability can be frightening and overwhelming. Advances in medical care and rehabilitation do not necessarily mean that persons with a mobility disability have a good quality of life. Many persons with a mobility disability face barriers to community participation and issues such as poverty, inactivity, social isolation and inaccessible communities are common.
Formed in 1956, Ability NB is a provincial community-based organization.

"I would honestly be lost without Ability NB! I'm 25 and suffered a stroke, it left me in a wheelchair. They helped me plan out my future and set goals, at the end of the month I'm moving out on my own (for the first time in my life) plus going to school! Thanks for getting my life back on track!"
"Ability NB was very instrumental in my transition back into normal life after my spinal cord injuries in 2007. I was quite resistant to the fact that there was hope. The Coordinator was insistent that there were programs available to help. It really was the first glimpse of light that I saw "
